inFamous Review

Sucker Punch; now thats an original name for a video game production company. This review is going to be focused on a game that has been out for a while now (and finally have gotten my hands on copy). inFamous created by Sucker Punch Studios was released in late spring last year (May 2009). Now I hope you do not mind, but I am going to start out with the foreground of this video game. What I mean by this is how the game's main setting, Empire City, has become the hell hole that you play through in the game. So if you don't mind lets get started.

This game really gets your blood pumping as soon as you press the start button on the first time you start the game up on your console. Suddenly people are running for their lives and screaming. At first it is hard to tell what they are running from, but then it become as clear as a whistle. An explosion of energy bursts through  out Empire City, this explosion "levels six square blocks of Empire City" and kills everyone caught within the destructive force of the blast. Everyone except the protagonist of the story, the man you assume control of with your remote. His name is Cole and he was assigned to deliver a package from point A to point B. Unfortunately this package contained an unlimited source of power which in the beginning of the story explodes and destroys everything in it's path. As soon as this cut-scene diminishes you immediately assume the role of Cole who struggles out of "Ground Zero" (where the explosion took began it rampage). Not too long after this you realize that you should of died in the blast, but instead you were gifted, or cursed with strange electrical based powers. The thing that intrigues me the most about this game is the choices that you make through out the story mode that decide your future and the future of Empire City. You decide whether you will be a Hero or truly Infamous.

Now I would like to show you a video, because it is too hard to explain, of the powers and abilities you will control while playing inFamous. Now all of the videos embeded into this post are from youtube and I would like to state that I did not create anyone of them. Following this I will post another video of some of the enemies that you will encounter throughout the game. On another note all the written portions of this post is my personal writing work so please don't use this on your site with out citing my work as a source on your site, blog, forum, etc. Please respect the work I put into this post. Now for some videos.

The video below shows only one enemy, this enemy is known as a Conduit, which is a above normal enemy with special powers. This conduit is for the Dust Men which you will learn more about, along with the other gangs, in a more in depth post about inFamous' enemies that I plan on posting in the future.

Okay so now I am going to rate this awesome game on a scale of 1 to 10. First of all this game has potential to blow millions of people's mind; so believe me, if you play this game just once you wont be able to get enough of it. Your powers are awesome, your transportation techniques are unique and never have been seen before in a video game, and the city is full of life even though it has become a complete hell hole. So on all these notes I give this sick game developed by Sucker Punch Studios an 8.5. Why not a 10? Well some things about this game were a little irritating. One thing that I hated the most was the pedestrians. At this one point in the game, I had just unlocked the second island and the Dust Men had MG Nests set up all over the place and I would just watch people running towards the gunners instead of away. These pedestrians all were slaughtered. It was amazing to watch, but at the same time horrible. Another thing that really ticked me off about this game was Cole's retarded freind (he is not really retarded) Zeke who I think does not seem to fit the entire story line of even should be in this game. I do agree thought that at time he did give some comedian back up to help brighten up the game.

Batman: Arkham City Review

Video game sequels can get a bit dull now-a-days, especially when developers start spewing them out as if they were rendered on a mechanical manufacturing line. Since we, as a gaming community, are exposed quite often to sequels that were "rushed out of the gate", we might be getting ourselves into a terrible dilema. However, there are some sequels that just blow you away. With mind-blowing mechanics, a simply amazing plot, and a noticeable step up from the previous release. Arkham City is sure to completely transform anyone who gets their hands on this game into the Dark Knight. Plot      In the previous release, Batman: Arkham Asylum, the facility on Arkham Island is left in ruins thanks to the menacing Joker's all out plan. In desperate need for a new facility to imprison Gotham's most dangerous thugs, Professor Hugo Strange is elected warden and is given approval to set up a new facility in the slums of Gotham City. In an attempt to ...
