Whether we like it or not, the end of the year is quickly rolling upon us. What a great year it has been for the gaming industry. We had the release of two brand new "next-generation" consoles which were welcome additions to both the Playstation and Xbox families (that is really exciting). However, I'm not here today to talk about hardware. Today is the day that I highlight my list of The Top 5 Video Games of 2013! Queue the annual collage! 5. Battlefield 4 (Xbox 360, Xbox One, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, PC) Why did it make the cut? Battlefield 4 has the potential to be the top-tier competitive first-person shooter on the market. With the capabilities of spawning massive 64-player battles on next-generation consoles and PC, the game is definitely a plus for multiplayer fanatics out there. Gearbox Software, the wonderful team behind the Borderlands franchise, has revealed it's next addition to the multiple pieces of the Headhunter DLC. This addition, frivolously entitled "The Horrible Hunger of the Ravenous Wattle Gobbler", is said to be none other than Thanksgiving Day themed, which makes a whole load of sense. Gearbox had released the first addition to the Headhunter pack back in the October featuring a Halloween-esque theme, and there is much speculation that next installment to the DLC package will be available for download sometime in December with none other than a Christmas theme. Naughty Dog came out earlier today to announce their first batch of Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception download-able content for 2012. Get ready for a bundle of maps rebuilt from the previous game, Uncharted 2, as well as a wide variety of your favorite Uncharted characters “pre Weight Watchers” style. Naughty Dog is bringing back four sweet maps from Uncharted 2: The Cave, Fort, Lost City, and Sanctuary maps are now part of the playing field in Uncharted 3. “Dynamic lighting effects, new particle effects and a slew of technical changes have been made to these maps” which in turn revamps the four original Among Thieves maps. Without a subscription to the Fortune Hunters Club DLC Pass the map pack will cost $9.99 USD. On Naughty Dog's official blog they announced the release of the Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception Patch 1.03 . The patch brought a seemingly small amount noticeable tweaks, but in the long run Naughty Dog was preparing the game for some new downloadable content. Update 01/17/11: Take a look at the brand new Flashback Map Pack #1 for Uncharted 3. In the post Naughty Dog stated, " Full details on the DLC content will be posted by January 17th. " Although the official content has not yet been announced, one could assume that the content will most likely be the "Flashback map pack" announced by Naughty Dog not too long after the game's release. The "Flashback" map pack features two revamped maps from Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. "The Fort" and "The Cave" are both based off of maps in Uncharted 2, but the forecast is different. 2011 was a huge year for me in the sense of video games. From the beginning of the year all the way through December hot titles were flying onto the shelves leaving us gamers begging for a mystical item that could fill our wallets.

     Are you ready for some improvements to Battlefield 3. Whether you have had problems with staying with your Squad due to a game related problem, or problems with correctly syncing your server region, you should be getting a nice slice of relief thanks to this update.      With the Squad Functionality improvement included in this update players should now be able to join games with their squad without getting split up. Expect to be as cooperative and strategic as ever when your blazing through urban and rural environments alike with the help of you buddies.      For all of you Xbox 360 players, the server region error has been fixed.           The developer at Naughty Dog sure know how to deliver a compelling story and have provided proof to back up my statement with the Uncharted series. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune was the first release and kicked off the franchise with an awesome story. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves followed delivering an even better story, more attractive graphics, and the online multiplayer and cooperative features. Now the third installment is here and is purely amazing.

     Many Playstation Network users are rejoicing over the announced return of the Playstation Store. For those of you who do not know what the Playstation Store is, allow me to take some time to introduce you to this feature.      The Playstation Store, or PS Store as it can be stated more easily, is an online component provided to registered members of the Playstation Network. The PS Store allows PSN members to download and stream a large variety of content to and from their Playstation 3 and Playstation Portable (PSP) Handhelds.
