Little Big Planet 2: Create Mode Tips

So you have gotten your hands on a copy of Little Big Planet 2 and want to know the basics to the games notorious, for good reasons, Create Mode. Have no fear because in today's post I am going to introduce you to basic, yet helpful, ways of maximizing your creation potential.

When designing your level you are going to want to leave the background of the level blank. Doing this will make it a whole lot easier to pay attention to the elements you are working on, rather than a dynamic background. Keeping the level background blank will also provide you with the best lighting to work with. Face it people, it is extremely hard to craft a level when you can barely see what you are doing.

Avoid using objects that you earned from through out the story mode. No one will enjoy your level if it is filled with the objects created by the game's developers. Instead try creating your own machines, gadgets, or whatever. When you create your own things, then people will definitely appreciate you and your level more than they would if you filled a level with story mode objects that everyone has.

Use Microchips to help keep your level organized. When using Microchips you will find that it is easier to know what wiring, or tool goes to what. Try naming your Microchip after the object that it corresponds with.

Switch up the camera angles frequently in high paced action levels to create an awe struck feel. Also use camera to show off points of interests, or events that are happening in the environment as the player moves through it to help develop the plot of your level.
When using Sackbots in your levels use stickers and decorations to customize them and give them a unique look. Enlarging Sackbots to their maximum size makes it easier to place objects on them. Use bumper buttons (R1, L1, R2, L2) to turn the Sackbot and position the camera for more effective placement of stickers. You can also save the costumes you create on Sackbots to your costumes menu and use them for yourself.

Use Controllinators as wireless remote controls to take control of Sackbots, Objects, etc. Just set one Controllinator to a Transmitter (go to the menu of the Controllinator and tweak the settings) , then place another Controllinator on the Object you want to control with the setting as a Reciever. It is very simple and easy to do.

Have an idea of what you want to create before you start the building process. It helps to draw out ideas and brainstorm.

Don't start to build your level at the ground. Try building from the center to give your level a larger and more open feel.
