This weekend Sony is releasing an array of special events. Two of these events involves giving Playstation gamers a Double XP Weekend for both Call of Duty: Black Ops and Killzone 3 Multiplayer Modes. The Call of Duty: Black Ops Double XP Weekend is a given for PS3 owners because all PSN users missed out on a recent Double XP Weekend while the network was put down for a pro-longed period of time.
The Call of Duty: Black Ops Double XP weekend will be exclusive to PS3 owners and last from Friday May 20th, to Tuesday May 24th. Treyarch is also releasing a Nuketown only playlist (Nuketown 24/7) to give players a place to go to get even more XP. Since Nuketown is an extremely small Map, players will find themselves racking up more kills and objectives. When you combine the potential of Nuketown with a Double XP weekend you have yourself a slice of Call of Duty Paradise.
Killzone 3 is celebrating the PSN recovery as well with a Welcome Back to Killzone 3 Double XP weekend. This event will start on Friday May 20th and last until Monday May 23rd, so it is strongly suggested that all of you Killzone 3 manics kick off the return of the Playstation Network with this weekend event.
Now that the Playstation Network is up and running, we will start to see a whole load of special events like the ones featured above in Sony's attempt to redeem itself. I say to Sony that there is no consolation for the outage of their "free online service" needed to redeem itself in my eyes. However I understand that many others disagree. As of now it does not really matter, because I can not say no to free and discounted content. Thank you Sony Computer Entertainment for everything you have done to manage your recent network issues, and thank you for the truck load of content you are delivering to us loyal Playstation gamers.
